Focus of attention of road light with LED light sources

Abstract: As a novel solid light source, LED has a number of unique advantages such as almost zero pollutions in the production process and the products, excellent vibration resistance, easy realization of 0 ~ 100% continuous dimming, the ability to work under safe extra-low voltage, the ability to work in the condition of switch flashing, and the directionality of light output. The obvious progress in its light efficiency and light color in recent years has enabled it to enter commercial applications. However, due to the impact of the industrial layout of China's planned economy and the lack of professionals with expertise and knowledge on LED lighting appliances, in the actual design and applications, the LED characteristics were not put into applications based on their strengths and weaknesses; on the contrary, many unreasonable and unqualified applications have appeared. In this paper, problems existing in the applications of LED in road lighting are analyzed; in addition, ideas and examples to solve the problems are also provided for the reference of colleagues in the industry.
